It is an annual contract for 1-2 years onsite in Budapest with some travel required also. This is a highly technical role, providing Architectural, Design and Implementation Consultancy services for Junipers Networks Solutions targeted at Service Provider customers. The consultant will be required to develop and maintain expertise on SP Network Architectures and solutions, e.g. Core, Edge, Access & Aggregation including BNG and timing applications. This is a full-time post-sales position with on-site and remote activity, working as part of a wider Juniper Professional Services team. Typical activities are around the following key areas;  Leading workshops to identify and understand customer requirements  Providing guidance on Network Architectures  Developing and documenting High- and Low-Level Network Designs  Design Validation and Verification testing  Interoperability testing  Network Implementation planning  Trouble-shooting/fault finding  Knowledge Transfer to in- and external customers The main purpose of this job is to work with a major Juniper Networks customer to ensure the smooth design, planning, migration and integration of Juniper Networks Products into new and/or existing network. A Juniper PS consultant provides guidance and is (technically) leading in order to provide high quality network design, service design, planning, engineering and implementation consulting services to the customer, to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and thereby increase potential business opportunities. RESPONSIBILITIES Work in a consultative manner with customers, sales, customer services and systems engineering to scope and deliver Professional Service projects. Typical tasks & duties will include:  Run requirements and scoping workshops with the customer, delivery partners and sales.  Technical lead for major network deployments and migrations. Produce designs, validation, and migration plans  Lead implementation and/or execution of those plans  Evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security and provide recommendations to customers about improvements to network configurations and topologies to prevent problems before they occur.  Develop and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of the Juniper Product Portfolio  Work with the internal Juniper Networks technical teams for placement of products and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.  Work closely with colleagues and customer’s personnel to help test, design, and plan for deployments of new products and features.  Support networks in early stages of deployment  Formulate network management strategies  Ensure that PS aspects of engagement follow engagement and delivery processes, working closely with the appropriate Project or Program Manager  Act as a Professional Services project leader on larger projects, coordinating the work of a larger delivery team; act as a project manager when appropriate, owning overall responsibility for network implementation.  Provide appropriate training (Knowledge Transfer workshops) to Juniper Networks partners and customers.  Develop and maintain strong relationships with the customer's technical management and teams.  Participation in requirements gathering workshops, discussions and meetings with Customer’s Design, Test and/or Engineering Teams  Reviewing customer provided (technical) information  Participation in workshops, (reviews) and discussions around design, testing, validating and implementing Juniper solutions  Participation in (and lead if required) technology workshops  Providing input related to ‘best practices’ in design, implementation and/or migration planning, and validation & verification testing  Taking ownership of, or assisting with creating Assessment, High Level Design, Low Level Design. Test Plans, Implementation and Migration plans  Providing customers with input related to recommended configurations and parameter values for Juniper equipment  Providing customers with technical information and documentation related to Juniper Networks products  Assisting with hand-over to Operations or to a Juniper Networks Operational RE  Assisting with migration planning and support to minimize impact and downtime  Ongoing, informal, knowledge transfer on Juniper Networks Solutions & Technologies  Advising, and demonstrating, if necessary, of new software and hardware features  Support of customer driven testing, providing technical feedback not only on the product but also the validity of the test  Tracking and reporting of issues found during testing, Implementation and migration Technical Skills Needed Deep experience of all core/edge networ k technologies including BNG and timing applications, JUNOS/JUNOS Evo expert qualified to JNCIE level, with experience of ACX (ideal), MX, PTX (useful) platform capabilities. Deep knowledge and experience underlay/overlay and IP networking including all major routing/control protocols. Essential –Scripting (e.g. Perl, Python), Network Monitoring and OSS/BSS/IT integration, Very strong knowledge of the design principles and operations in SP networks and IP-related protocols including all core networking protocols at routing/control level and experience designing and deploying Service-Provider scale networking solutions, with focal knowledge around service-provider scale MPLS deployment and IPv6. Advantageous – Timing solution implementation (specifically PTP), Juniper Paragon deployment and implementation. System integration via restful API/other means. Good level of familiarity with Cisco platforms and their interaction with JUNOS. Experience/Background Desired  6-10 years experience in delivering Systems into Telco and/or DC environments, and integration into OSS/BSS/IT in Service Providers and/or very large Enterprise customers  Minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing/Consultative roles  Education  Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar discipline Personal Skills/Attributes Sought  Expert communication and interpersonal skills  Commitment to delivering a remarkable customer experience  Effective consultancy, planning & communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills, ability to work on multiple projects and manage customers appropriately  Must be fluent in English and Hungarian language and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills  International and national travel where required Show more Show less
