Your role in the story: We are on a constant quest to enhance our fleet. This involves exploring various avenues, such as the development of new floating assets, the conversion of existing ships, or the modification of our current floating units. You approach the comprehension of new complex vessels and their operational demands with enthusiasm and capability; for you, complexity presents itself as an enjoyable challenge rather than a hindrance. As the (Sr.) Engineer Naval Architect, your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the development of ideas into feasible concepts. You will evaluate the viability of proposed enhancements, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and are economically sound. Initial concept development will predominantly take place internally, with your expertise playing a crucial role in shaping these ideas. Once a concept is deemed realistic and profitable, a next step could be a collaboration with a design agency to further refine and develop the designs. What you will be working on: Conceptual development of new ships and barges; Studies for modification of existing fleet; Supervision of external design offices in concept and basic design development; Assess the investment cost and performance of the developed concepts; Validate feasibility for building of the conceptual design. Key ingredients for success: You have a degree in Marine technology, naval architecture or offshore engineering or equivalent working experience; You have 5 years of experience in conceptual design and basic design development of (offshore) ships, including statutory verification; You understand the drivers of a ship design and performance such as ship stability, strength, resistance, motion behavior and its power plant; You possess a strong drive to develop future ships and barges servicing the offshore wind installation sector; You have hands-on mindset to perform initial design works yourselves.
