The Information Specialist provides user support for designated Client information products and services (e.g. specialist external databases to access Life Science, Chemistry/Patents, Competitor/News, eJournals, eBooks, Document Delivery, and Copyright Permissions) to support our Client’s optimal return on investment and support. This role utilizes content and technical knowledge of the licensed information products and services to provide the right level support to Client business users. The Information Specialist will liaise with various teams, internally and externally, to support access and maintenance of the information products and services available to the Client’s staff enterprise wide. The selected candidate may work in CCC’s Cluj office, be hybrid or remote. The scheduled working hours are Monday – Friday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Eastern European Time (EET); includes 1-hour daily meal break. Other compensation: Performance bonus eligible What You Will Be Doing Maintain detailed content and technical knowledge of licensed products and services to effectively respond to user requests timely and to assist staff to use the licensed external information products and tools with efficiency. Oversee and support library vendor relationships (subject to not participating in any vendor negotiations). Partner with other members of the Library Team to feed into the communications, engagement and training strategy for licensed external information products/services to support optimal return on investment. Gain and maintain awareness of the external published information landscape relevant to content and service area. Maintain detailed technical knowledge of EZProxy and SFX to support its use internally and stay current on external access management landscape (e.g. linking software, SSO, IP address authentication, etc.) to escalate relevant activities to Library colleagues. Document and implement simplified process with Library Team to maintain and monitor accurate record holdings information across subscribed journals, alerting relevant Library partners to any changes e.g. Document Delivery partner. Determine if content is covered under the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) & CCC Joint Multinational Copyright License Agreement or under the direct license with the publisher; Research and locate contact details for rightsholders for content not covered under the CLA & CCC Joint Multinational Copyright License Agreement. Provide users with next steps for obtaining permissions or pass appropriate permission and contact details to the permissions acquisition team. If needed, escalate query to designated legal contact(s) for support. Support change management associated with upgrades to licensed content and services, or for the implementation of new or alternative content and services. Maintain usage metrics/value measurements for assigned content and/or services to support evaluation of its return on investment, feed into content/service reviews and inform effective contract negotiations. Assist staff, including authentication and registration of external partner staff, to access licensed information content remotely. Liaise with internal IT groups and external vendors to support continuous service and to resolve any technical issues, review and confirm that licensed content is made available via the External Library. Requirements Library or Information Science Degree 3+ years Information Management experience in a Pharma/Biotech setting preferred. Knowledge and experience using a range of published information products and tools. Interest in emerging technologies that impact published information products and services. Demonstrates capability to proactively identify and resolve issues with minimal oversight. Highly effective communicator (spoken, written, listener); Proactively and independently manage their workload; Attention to detail May be required to travel 1-2 times per year for business purposes.
