Role description: Reports to Director of Sustainability, Remediation, Data Management, and Advisory in the GEC Provide technical and operational leadership to the SER and SO team in Romania Supervises a team of multidisciplinary staff comprising peers and subordinates. Support multi team project delivery from the GEC including SER, SO, CAD, GIS, and Data Management Responsible for billability and workload management in GEC for their team Works closely with the SER and SO Leads in the EU Business Areas Collaborates closely with wider SER and SO teams in India and the Philippines to provide the best technical services to the EU Business Areas Foster innovation by contributing to knowledge-based programs to help improve project outcomes. Provide technical expertise to the project team and anticipate and solve key technical blockers for the smooth functioning of the project Support the Discipline Director to achieve Discipline targets, team growth, and objectives for EU BAs Establishing and consolidating relationships with senior staff in EU Business Area offices, taking ownership of the delivery and GEC’s technical capabilities. Support on bid proposals and new pursuits Drive creativity and independent thinking within your team, including around new digital technologies. Mentor team leads and team champion(s) to ensure high-quality standards and continuous improvement in safe design practices. Take a technical leadership role within the team, providing direction and lead by example. Working to ensure that best practices of delivery are adopted, and it is shared with relevant teams. Promote both the regional and global culture of the business. Early assessment of project and team risks and arriving with appropriate Corrective And Preventive Action (CAPA). Role accountabilities: You are recognized as an authority in the Environmental Consulting space. You provide technical expertise to the project team and can anticipate and solve key technical blockers for the smooth functioning of the project. You provide technical expertise and solutions on multiple projects. You help mentor technical leads to constantly update yourself with current changes in the industry. You give suitable solutions to be applied in the project, without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost. You use your knowledge and experience of best practices to support the development of systems and processes. You exercise sound holistic independent judgment and take responsibility and accountability for your own performance and that of junior and senior team members, driving engagement of project teams. You are expected to have in-depth knowledge of ER and Contaminated Land Management project delivery and are beginning to display thought leadership. You are driving the development of process improvement and best practice in your discipline and drawing on global expertise and best practice. You find opportunities to showcase best practice outputs/capabilities to the wider GEC community and/or external stakeholders, as well as seek out best practices from other teams. Drive inputs to improve standard operating procedures, create manuals of good practices following safe design principles, and organize and conduct training sessions. You are expected to work with colleagues in OpCo’s or Business Area to identify opportunities for digital innovation and implement best practice You play a major role in forming the strategic growth areas for your business line. You act as a champion of best practice and standardization, including the scaling of new tools and technologies. You create opportunities for others to contribute to service innovation, lessons learned and best practice. Qualifications & Experience: Have a master’s in environment engineering, environment science, civil engineering, or similar. Minimum 10 years of experience in Environmental Engineering, Consulting and similar Multi-lingual in French, German, and/or Dutch preferred PhD in Environment domain preferred. Why Arcadis?
