Description As a Thickness Measurement Technician in the marine industry, you will be responsible for performing accurate thickness measurements ensuring compliance with IACS and industry standards, safety regulations, and engineering specifications. You will work closely with our teams. Key Responsibilities Perform non-destructive thickness measurements of materials used in ship construction. Document measurement results and compile detailed reports for engineers, project managers, and regulatory bodies. Calibrate and maintain measurement instruments to ensure accurate readings. Communicate findings clearly with senior technical staff, ensuring timely resolution of measurement discrepancies or issues. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or an associate degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field is highly preferred. Certification in NDT (Level II) and proven experience in thickness measurement or non-destructive testing (NDT), preferably in a marine or shipbuilding environment. Knowledge of ultrasonic testing, micrometer usage, calipers, and other measurement tools. Familiarity with industry standards for marine vessel construction. Strong understanding of marine structures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications. Proficient in documenting and reporting measurement data. Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. English language minimum level C1.
