We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to join our growing team. This position will focus on the design and integration of electric powertrain systems, including automotive ECUs such as MCUs, TCUs, BMS, and other safety-critical components. Position Overview: The automotive industry’s shift toward electrification is rapidly growing, and as a Senior System Engineer , you will be at the forefront of developing advanced electric powertrain systems. This role will focus on high-level system engineering tasks, including system requirements elicitation (SYS.1) , requirements analysis (SYS.2) , and system architecture design (SYS.3) . You will ensure the integration of key components such as motor control units (MCUs), battery management systems (BMS), or other safety-critical automotive ECUs while maintaining strict adherence to ASPICE processes and functional safety standards. Your expertise will help shape system designs, manage requirements, and integrate complex subsystems into a cohesive, high-performance system. While the role does not include direct involvement in testing, you will contribute to ensuring that all engineering work meets automotive quality and process standards. Key Responsibilities: The role involves leading the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of system-level requirements for eDrive systems, including MCUs, TCUs, BMS, and automotive ECUs. Responsibilities include defining system architecture, ensuring functional safety and compliance with ISO 26262, and adhering to ASPICE standards throughout the development process. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous process improvements. It also involves conducting safety analyses, maintaining detailed documentation, and preparing technical reports and design reviews to ensure requirements are met on time and in compliance with industry standards. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering (or related field). Master’s degree is a plus. Experience & Skills: 5+ years of experience in system engineering preferably for automotive ECUs, including electric motor control units (MCU), battery management systems (BMS), TCUs, or equivalent safety-critical systems. Strong experience in ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) process models and ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards. Proven experience in SYS.1 (Requirements Elicitation) , SYS.2 (Requirements Analysis) , and SYS.3 (System Architecture Design) within automotive or similar safety-critical systems. Familiarity of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and experience designing safety-critical systems. AFSP Certification is a great asset. Strong understanding of electric motor control , battery management systems , and power electronics for electric powertrain systems. Familiarity with real-time embedded systems , microcontrollers, communication protocols, and subsystem integration. Proficiency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of German is a plus. Desirable Competencies: Experience with system modeling tools (SysML, UML) and design tools. Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent simulation tools.
