Join Solar Turbines! As a Development Operations Engineer, you will contribute in DevOps community in order to deliver information technology components based on client or customer requirements. What will be your task at this position? Acts as a liaison between software development and IT operations teams to foster collaboration Designs and implements automation strategies for software deployment and infrastructure provisioning Manages and optimizes infrastructure for performance, security, and scalability Ensures the reliability and quality of software products through continuous integration and delivery practices Maintains security protocols and practices to protect the IT environment Competent to analyze the requirements without close supervision Competent to design, test and develop the software components that meet defined requirements Able to use best coding practices (libraries, frameworks, APIs) and standard design patterns in software development Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems Create and analyze visual diagrams and methods – logical technical diagrams, flowcharts and models – that document the complexity of delivered services Competent to troubleshoot and maintain existing code base in order to fix bugs and/or implementing of new features Leverage Agile practices during the whole infrastructure and/or software development lifecycle Coordinate with product owner to plan, analyze, implement and maintain enhancements/upgrades and understand the use of a specific functionality as needed Collaborate with a team of software and test engineers, designers, and data scientists to optimize and iterate on our company solutions Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Solar Digital management from time to time What do we expect from a suitable candidate? Basic qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in Software engineering Proven record of strong technical understanding 3 years or more of experience with designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining large scale infrastructure automation scripts 3 years or more experience in Linux and/or Windows administration Experience with software such as: Tomcat, Httpd Apache, IIS or other web or application servers AWS experience – with current AWS certifications (Solution Architect, Practitioner level or similar on same level) Good knowledge of infrastructure on Cloud based hosting model Hands-on experience with automation and CICD tools (preferred Azure DevOps) Hands-on experience with Ansible, Puppet or other automation tools Hands-on experience with developing scripts using Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell or similar Experience with monitoring and other analytics tools SRE – basic knowledge and experience with the framework Strong understanding of Agile methodology, preferable Scaled Agile Framework Experience and basic knowledge of Incident Management process Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other team members You communicate in Slovak and English We require work from our office in Košice (hybrid model, not remote work) Top candidates will also have: AWS Cloud formation stack template creation experience Extensive experience with software such as: Apache Kafka, Redis, dot-net-core Some experience with on-prem to cloud migration (best practices, understanding of cloud environment) Basic overview and understanding of best practices regarding containers Ability to operate as individual contributor in DevOps team during implementation of development or operational activities Interest in working collaboratively with engineering leadership, product owners, software developers and other stakeholders Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues Ability to work independently without any (or minimal) degree of supervision Understanding of Test-driven development Debugging and maintaining software in various platforms (Windows, Linux or Unix, etc.) Passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment Understanding of a micro service architecture Ability to adapt quickly to a complex environment Some degree of Cloud experience Pro-active thinking – being flexible and creative Self-motivated mentality – individual with passion in latest technology trends What is Solar Turbines offering to you?
