Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated Onsite Support Technician to provide Level 2 IT support at a modern manufacturing facility. The role involves handling a variety of hardware and software related issues on factory equipment, including desktops, laptops, handheld devices, and printers. The position requires working in shifts to align with production hours, alongside collaborating with other support teams (e.g., networking, applications, and server groups). Main requirement: on-site work in Kosice. Preferred Certifications and Experience:ITIL knowledge or certification is highly valued. Experience with modern IT monitoring, deployment, and incident management tools. Your Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems on production equipment such as PDA devices, scanners, thin clients, PCs, forklift terminals, and printers. Coordinate with third-party suppliers for advanced hardware troubleshooting. Perform equipment swaps, replacements, and re-installations to address incidents effectively. Regularly deploy system patches and antivirus updates to ensure compliance with security protocols. Maintain and update the asset inventory, including managing stock movements. Manage spare parts inventory to ensure timely replacements, including initiating purchase requests when necessary. Deploy system images, applications, and updates using designated deployment tools. Collaborate with application support teams to resolve complex technical challenges. Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for remote resolution and creating knowledge base articles. Provide support to the factory service desk team and assist with Level 1 and Level 2 issues for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. Monitor, analyze, and resolve hardware-related alerts to minimize downtime. Our Requirements Operating Systems: Basic knowledge of server OS (Windows, Linux; OpenVMS is a plus). Hands-on experience with client OS (Windows 7 and Windows 10). Networking: Basic understanding of LAN and wireless setups. Active Directory: Knowledge of account management and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Device Management: Experience with OS deployment, hardware provisioning, and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and handheld devices. Familiarity with managing local and network printers. Security: Experience with antivirus deployment, patch management, and reporting. Tools and Platforms: Hands-on experience with incident reporting tools like ServiceNow. Familiarity with MDT, WSUS, and MobiControl is an advantage. Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell). Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., ZABBIX is a plus). Server Rooms: Basic understanding of data center components, including UPS and power systems. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills in Slovak and English, both written and verbal. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Adaptable to changing schedules, including shifts, weekends, and on-call duties. Able to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with users to ensure timely issue resolution. Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
