We are recruiting a Project Engineering Manager – Binder and Exhaust Gas Cleanin g for KI (Knauf Insulation) to join the Central Functions. As a Project Engineering Manager specializing in Binder and Exhaust Gas Cleaning, you’ll be a key player in designing and implementing projects across our plants, with a focus on the production of rock mineral wool. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our operations in EMEA and APAC regions, driving both brownfield and greenfield projects of significant value. What you’ll be doing: Lead Engineering Projects : Manage projects ranging from €1M to €15M, ensuring each is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the performance requirements . Collaborative Design & Implementation : Work closely with engineering teams to design plant-specific solutions, create project scopes, and prepare detailed implementation plans . Customer Commun i cation : Establish clear expectations and project objectives with customers, keeping them informed throughout the project lifecycle with regular reports and reviews . Team Leadership : Oversee a diverse, matrixed team of engineers, planners, and contractors to achieve project goals. Foster collaboration and motivate the team to ensure successful ou tcomes. Technical Support : Provide guidance to civil, electrical, and process engineers, supporting them in detailed design, control systems, and drafting . Project Execution : Identify opportunities to improve cost-efficiency and project schedules while mitigating risks. Manage project changes with minimal impact on costs and timelines . Asset Management : Lead the asset management program, conducting annual plant audits and recommending improvements to enhance performance and reliability . Training & Mentorship : Coach and mentor engineers, sharing your expertise and helping develop the next generation of technical leaders . What we’d love for you to have: Educational Background: A degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience). Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing mechanical projects. Experience with piping, ducting, or control systems is a plus. Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of engineering software (AutoCAD, 3D modeling, Navisworks, MS Office, etc.). Language Skills : Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus). Personal Traits : Autonomous and proactive, able to lead a team effectively while balancing theory with practical application. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence diverse stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve creatively.
