NextChem S.p.A. is a holding company controlling several different daughter companies that act as licensors of technologies in the chemicals / petrochemicals / fertilizers sectors as well as proprietary & critical equipment suppliers within the same technological domains. Within NextChem S.p.A., the centralized PEQ function has the mandate to set up the strategy and execute its supply chain for proprietary and critical equipment. The different businesses of NextChem are assisted on the sourcing side of proprietary and critical equipment by dedicated PEQ managers. The PEQ Manager is the primary interface between NEXTCHEM S.p.A. daughter companies and procurement. Along with the relevant Managing Director and their management teams, will define and execute the strategy relevant to proprietary equipment. Main task and responsibilities: Mapping the equipment to be (potentially) supplied by the relevant company Identifying (or creating) the equipment’s proprietary character Defining the design battery limits of the proprietary equipment: what to be specified by the NEXTCHEM company VS what to leave to the freedom of the manufacturer in order to make them cost competitive; Defining the sourcing strategy for the relevant PEQ packages (i.e. open tender, limited multisource, partnership based on pre-defined general cooperation agreements) based on the following criteria: Type of proprietary character; Complexity (who owns the “art”); Business volume; Risk of IP leakage to competition; Ensuring a sustainable vendor list based on the strategy above (propose vendor qualification checks, project manage their execution, formalize the qualification when completed), and also as a balancing act between the qualification capabilities of the company’s qualification team; Establishing General Cooperation Agreements with the vendors in the vendor list as appropriate in order to have clear provisions on topics such as IP protection and ownership, non-competition, exclusivity (total / field related / product related / geographical…), general T&C’s, back-to-back, in addition to the other typical procurement and legal / compliance T&Cs; Establishing General Cooperation Agreements or joint development and research agreements with partners as needed by the business; Preparing a cost model based on the main cost drivers of each PEQ with input from engineering; updating it over time, considering the appropriate indexation; upgrading the model over time if needed based on the collected pricing data; Liasing with sales and engineering for the proper scope of supply definition for each sales prospect and ensure that sales contract can be mirrored as much as possible into back to back contracts with suppliers; Contracting manufacturers for the supply on individual project, using the application of back to back contracts wherever possible; Maintaining relationships with MAIRE Group vendors management and core functions in order to act as first escalation point from the expediting and project management in case of criticalities during the supply execution. Knowledge and educational level: Minimum 7 years’ experience in procurement and strategic sourcing positions in a technical international environment, preferably within the plant-building industry Master degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience Knowledge of Procurement best practices; Deep understanding of contracting; Knowledge of proprietary equipment business dynamics is a plus; Previous experience with high pressure vessels and complex packages is a plus; Experience with leading teams Proficiency or mother tongue in English and Italian language Show more Show less
