Telecommunications engineer

The tasks of our new colleague will be
- carries out the operational technical and/or data security review, maintenance and repair of the basic telecommunications networks and equipment operating in its area of operation, according to the method and time cycle prescribed in the technological and technical instructions (with the inclusion of additional work phases if necessary)
- checks the operational and circuit parameters and technical condition of the structural elements of the given telecommunications equipment using the available diagnostic methods and instruments, uses and programs the instrument park for measurements if necessary, corrects the settings, delimits the location of the errors in the event of an error, assesses and indicates to the professional superior the materials, tools and equipment required for repair and troubleshooting and the expected service limitation period
- participates - according to professional boundaries - in the scheduled technical examinations, in the measurement work phases that check the electrical parameters of the equipment, performs the necessary repairs and replaces unrepairable parts, checks the electrical connections and connections
- participates in the monitoring, measurement, troubleshooting and repair work phases of telecommunications and data transmission connections operating as part of national systems that cross the boundaries of his organizational unit in order to ensure the appropriate operational readiness of the entire telecommunications system
- during troubleshooting, maintenance and repair work processes within his professional scope, he plans the expected service limitation in advance, builds telecommunications and data transfer detours if necessary, agrees and coordinates this with the regional experts participating in the fault repair process - with the railway dispatcher if necessary - based on the error tickets received by the dispatcher, in order to achieve the shortest possible outage
- participates in the operation of the troubleshooting standby service
What is needed to fill the job role
- secondary specialized state education (telecommunications, IT, low-current, broadcasting engineer, electrical engineer, electronic engineer, control engineer, building electrician, electrician, low- or high-current, audio and visual engineer, electrical industry, computer engineer, electrical engineer)
- basic railway qualification
- work, fire, property and environmental protection knowledge
- user-level knowledge of office and computing applications
- thorough knowledge of the telecommunications system and network found in the work area
- knowledge of applicable laws, standards, regulations and internal instructions affecting your field of expertise
