What We Offer Whilst the role is advertised as full-time, we can offer flexible working arrangements for this role, such as hybrid working, adjusted working hours, and other alternative working patterns. The Customs Operations Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations and establishing effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. The Operations Manager is responsible for a team of direct reports of Department Managers. As part of this role, representation and reporting within the area or country takes place through permanent participation in the core management team and within the group through participation in the Operations Network Meeting and similarly organised projects. The resources and processes are to be organized, optimized and further developed in accordance with the contractual obligations towards customers and the strategic guidelines of the Group. Ensuring operational excellence with the integration of additional support functions and the systematic pursuit of economic goals in the area of responsibility are of particular importance. The Operations Manager is thus the central interface to all locations, the 2nd level management of Operations and the support functions within said region / area as well as in higher-level issues in the Group. Main tasks and responsibilities: Comprehensive knowledge of the procedures and organization of customs declarations and control processes Ensure safe and efficient operations by organisation of the Operations unit with a presence at the locations and with customers as required Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws. New projects leadership and resourcing in collaboration with the local MD. Oversee need for additional resources including participation in recruitment, onboarding and training Active development of 2nd level management in Operations and of candidates with potential Overseeing assigned workload and tasks to employees.
