We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Data Product Owner to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate is skilled in agile methodologies, has a solid understanding of the data domain and ETL processes, and excels at managing product backlogs and prioritizing work to drive impactful results. The Data Product Owner will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between stakeholders and the data engineering team, ensuring that the team’s output aligns with business goals. We need someone who is passionate about data products, demonstrates excellent communication and negotiation skills, and has the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements. This role is focused on defining, prioritizing, and delivering data solutions with a team of nine engineers. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership: Define and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs. Prioritize work effectively to maximize value delivery, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals. Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, capturing and understanding their needs, clarifying requirements, and translating them into actionable items for the data engineering team. Maintain regular communication and ensure stakeholders are informed of progress and potential impacts. Sprint Activities: Collaborate with the team in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospective sessions. Ensure the team is aligned on sprint goals, and that work is estimated, planned, and executed efficiently. Continuous Improvement: Track key performance metrics, monitor team velocity, and ensure the team consistently improves in delivery predictability and quality. Use feedback from retrospectives and stakeholder input to drive enhancements in product delivery and processes. Required Skills And Experience Proven experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Manager, or Scrum Master within data engineering or similar domains. Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and data pipeline management. Expertise in Scrum and agile methodologies. Experience managing delivery using Jira. Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills. A structured approach to problem-solving and delivery management.
