We are looking for an experienced and dynamic operations leader to lead the development and operation of the production plants of one of our clients from the food industry. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in food production. The successful candidate will manage plant operations from the ground up and spearhead the global expansion strategy. Starting in 2025, the initial assignment will be in the Czech Republic. The Director Operations will play a key role in establishing new production facilities, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, and promoting sustainability practices. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the planning, design, and establishment of new production plants. Direct daily plant operations, ensuring production targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained, and processes are optimized for efficiency and sustainability. Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams across production, operations, and maintenance departments. Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to plant management and staff. Be prepared to undertake international assignments, typically lasting about one year, to oversee the setup of new plants in various global locations. Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Ensure all operations comply with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental sustainability goals. Collaborate with other departments (R&D, logistics, quality control, HR) to align objectives and ensure smooth project implementation. Manage plant budgets, control costs effectively, and ensure financial targets are met without compromising quality or safety. Requirements: At least 7 years of experience in food production management, with proven leadership in the industry. International Experience needed Demonstrated experience in setting up new plants from scratch Experience in the food & beverage industry needed Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Additional language skills are a plus. Strong management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced, international environment. Willingness to take on global assignments (approximately 1 year per assignment), starting with an assignment in our plant in the Czech Republic in 2025. A proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to engage in all levels of plant operations, from strategic decision-making to day-to-day management.
