Position Overview: We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our team, focusing on M&A due diligence for clients in the financial services sector. This role will support the delivery of our growth ambition and involve managing and delivering ESG and EHS Due Diligence projects. The successful candidate will also contribute to ESG management consultancy, advisory services, and sustainable finance projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead Consulting Engagements: Manage a range of Due Diligence, ESG, and Sustainable Finance projects, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Client Relationship Management: Act as ERM’s point of contact with financial and corporate clients, ensuring excellent value and service. Develop and maintain client relationships, securing repeat business and generating new offerings. Project Management: Oversee Due Diligence projects associated with medium to large-scale transactions globally. Direct and compile inputs across various technical and ESG work streams tailored to each project. Business Development: Work with ERM’s Partners to develop new client relationships and expand existing ones. Involvement in proposal development, including written content, pricing, and client presentations. Acting as ERM’s point of contact with our financial and corporate clients, to ensure we deliver excellent value and quality of service. Team Leadership and Mentorship: Contribute to the development, growth, and management of a high-performance team. Serve as a leader and mentor to junior consultants. Innovation and Collaboration: Support the development and diversification of ERM’s capabilities by collaborating with colleagues globally and driving innovation within our practice community. Qualifications: Experience: Strong track record in leading Due Diligence, ESG management consultancy, and advisory engagements for clients in the financial and corporate sectors. ESG or EHS experience in various industrial sectors is also beneficial, including oil & gas/energy, manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, technology & infrastructure. Skills: Professional fluency in both Dutch and English (written and oral). Ability to engage with finance sector stakeholders (e.g., Head of ESG, Chief Investment Officers, Managing Partners). Knowledge of key frameworks and drivers for the finance sector (e.g., PRI, EDCI, SBTi, TCFD). Close attention to detail and quality of deliverables. Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant disciplines. Location: This role can be based in one of our four offices in The Netherlands & Belgium (Utrecht, Rotterdam, Brussels, Antwerp) and will be part of our growing ESG Advisory & Transaction Services Sub Team within the M&A team.
