Job title: Exchange Build Engineer Office location: Belgrade, Serbia Contract type: Fixed-term (12 months) About The Role And The Team As the Exchange Build Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage the delivery of various network assets, ensuring timely and high-quality performance. This role involves coordinating between different departments and vendors to manage exchange delivery, aggregation backhaul connections, cost optimisation circuit relocations, aligning resources, and ensuring delivery are completed on time, within scope, and budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecom and vendor management, excellent communication and project delivery skills. Key Responsibilities Include Ensuring the Hyperoptic network is fully operational, meeting or exceeding performance criteria and technical specifications. Delivering a robust and reliable broadband network for our customers. Maintaining excellent relationships with vendors and stakeholders. Overall, success in this role means delivering high-quality, reliable network components on time and within budget, while fostering strong relationships and seeking continuous improvement in the exchange build processes. What will you be doing? Manage the build of Access Network Assets and keep the network inventory system up to date Tracker exchange delivery and coordinate build activities to make it live in the Hyperoptic network Maintain an asset database of exchanges in delivery Review technical specifications for equipment and systems used in the exchange. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align delivery and ensure smooth execution. Manage Openreach delivery of cable links Coordinate cable links delivery between Openreach, Fibre Infrastructure and Network Team Manages assets on several cable links and highlights any potential constraints to the design and capacity team Ensure the internal system is kept up to date during the delivery Manage and track backhaul delivery with vendors Monitor the delivery process closely to ensure that all backhauls are delivered on time and meet the specified quality standards. Maintain regular communication with vendors to coordinate the delivery schedule of backhaul infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with project timelines Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during the delivery process, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules. Keep detailed records of all backhaul deliveries, including documents, delivery handovers, reports, and any correspondence with the vendor. Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate and detailed records of all aspects of the exchange build, including design documents, installation guides, and test results. Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, issues, and solutions. Document and escalate any significant issues related to delivery to appropriate stakeholders for timely resolution and to mitigate the impact on the overall project. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, technicians, and project managers. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services. Communicate with internal customers to understand their requirements and provide updates on project progress. What We Are Looking For Advanced user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with expert knowledge of Excel Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Strong financial acumen and budget management skills. Project Management skills are necessary. Documentation & presentation skills (MS Office Inc.
