Reporting to the Engineering Delivery Manager in RecoTek, the FinOps Engineer will be a key member of our shared service DevOps squad. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of cloud cost optimization processes across our product teams in all three loops, enabling standardized reporting and actionable insights for efficient cloud resource management. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure cloud spending aligns with business goals and is optimized for cost and performance, enabling teams to self-serve by providing templated cost governance tools and processes. As a genuine DevOps / Cloud Engineering all-rounder with a platform engineering mindset, you will also work in the DevOps team to build and maintain our internal development platform and to support our software engineering teams with BAU DevOps requirements. As a FinOps evangelist you will adopt an iterative approach to demonstrate and embed the FinOps approach throughout the Devops and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Cost Optimization Lead the development and implementation of cloud cost management best practices and strategies across multiple cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure). Analyse cloud resource usage and costs, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reductions. Cloud Cost Governance Develop, document, and maintain standardized processes for cloud cost optimization across products and services. Ensure consistent reporting, governance, and adherence to FinOps principles across the organization. Reporting & Metrics Build and automate dashboards and reports that provide visibility into cloud spending, usage patterns, and forecasts. Deliver regular cost analysis reports to key stakeholders (e.g., engineering, finance, product managers) to ensure alignment with financial goals. Platform Engineering Support our SDLC modernization initiatives, working with your colleagues in the DevOps team to build internal development platforms to support our engineers to self-serve via automated Infrastructure as Code provisioning and CI/CD pipeline templates Provide self-service capabilities for engineering teams to monitor and manage cloud spend Engineering Support Azure Infrastructure Management Configuration Management Monitoring & Logging Security & Compliance Incident Management Required Skills: Educated to degree level in IT, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related discipline or proven equivalent experience in a relevant business context. Proven experience managing and optimizing cloud costs in Azure, including setting up and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Experience in cloud cost allocation using tags and resource groups in Azure. Experience implementing and configuring FinOps tools such as CloudHealth or Azure Cost Management for cloud cost monitoring, reporting, and optimization. Demonstrable experience working with and automating the provisioning of a wide range of Azure infrastructure and service resources. Azure networking (VNETs, subnets, CIDR ranges, App Gateway, Azure Front Door, Load Balancing, NSGs, Firewalls) Azure Compute (VMs, VM Scale Sets, App Service Plans, AKS) Azure Cloud Adoption Framework Azure Identity & Access Management IaC: Some or all of Bicep, Terraform, ARM, YAML, Powershell CI/CD: AzDO, GitHub, GitHub Actions Cloud/FinOps certifications (nice to have) Experience with AWS (nice to have) What do we offer?
