Tesco operates in Hungary since 1995 and its head office is located in Budaörs. The company has built the country’s biggest retail chain by running more than 200 stores all over Hungary. More than 800 colleagues work together in our head office in Budaörs. We cooperate in 3 countries structure with the Czech and Slovakian teams on a daily basis to offer the best to our customers. Please note that the position is part time (20h/week)! What You Will Need Fluent English (;;written and spoken communication skills);; Experience of writing clear, concise and persuasive copy for a range of audiences and in a variety of formats Sound knowledge of the workings of government and parliamentary procedure Skilled time management with the ability to prioritize goals Excellent knowledge of national politics, media landscape, civil society and the legislative system, customer focus, personal integrity, teamwork, need and ability to develop one self and others Project management skills, ability to deliver projects end-to-end Driving licence (Category B) What The Job Is About Supporting the Hungarian leadership delivering our public affairs and stakeholder engagement agenda in Hungary according to the set strategy to help building trust of the external stakeholders in Tesco. My Accountabilities In The Job Supporting the Head of Communications to deliver Government strategy in HU, ensuring the work is aligned to the strategy and business plan Helping to build and maintain relations with key stakeholders from government, parliament, regulatory bodies, trade associations, local authorities, NGOs and engaging customers and colleagues in my country to demonstrate the benefits Tesco brings to local communities. Contributing to develop and deliver a clear Government Affairs strategy that identifies key issues and stakeholders for the business and sets out a strategic engagement plan to promote and protect the interests of Tesco and our customers. Scanning the horizon in media and in politics to highlight potential opportunities and issues for the customers and Tesco operations. Following closely the legislation process to flag issues to the leadership and other business units. Maintaining regularly update a stakeholder map of key influencers with whom Tesco should build relationships Prepare briefs and positions papers to support the delivery of our stakeholder engagement plan Working with other parts of the business to gather evidence to support Tesco’s position and demonstrate the benefits we bring to the country, helping us to engage with policy makers on a positive basis. Meeting stakeholder representatives to discuss issues for Tesco as well as to respond to their questions. Supporting HoC in representing Tesco in trade associations and other organisations, helping us to build alliances that support our policy engagement. Be able to work individually and as part of a team with other departments in order to achieve results.
