Duties Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/ NETWORK) of NAVAL FAC ENGR CMD EUROPE SW ASIA Naples, Italy. This is a public notice flyer to notify applicants of anticipated vacancies. Requirements Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensures and manages systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, integrity, efficiency and recoverability. 2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Administering the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. 3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommends resolution to problems and issues, prepares and presents reports and plans, and coordinates projects to meet future needs. 4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) CYBER SECURITY: Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. 2) NETWORK MANAGEMENT: Maintain network operation and maintenance concepts to establish connectivity between remote sites. 3) NETWORK DESIGN: Maintain a full range of network systems (LAN/WAN) design principles, and methodologies used in installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements. 4) NETWORK ARCHITECTURE: Maintain and improve network access control; configure switches and routers for reliable performance; and develop/implement configuration management plans for complex Local Area Networks (LANs) to identify and resolve network issues. 5) ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION: Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
