We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to help expand the local support to our offices and vessels located in Jutland, situated in Esbjerg, Hobro, Horsens, Padborg, Taulov, Herning, and Frederikshavn. Ideally, you will be based in Esbjerg, where we already have IT Support colleagues. As the IT Support Technician you will coordinate scheduled “field work” with the different business units, ensuring a high service level on Incidents and Requests that cannot be solved remotely. Your primary responsibility will be to support our locations and vessels in Jutland, and secondarily locations in Hamborg and Cuxhaven. As the nature of the job requires travel to our various sites across Jutland having access to car and driver’s license is essential. Responsibilities Include Deploy PCs and associated peripherals, including new installations and the redeployment of existing equipment. Install and configure software to agreed standards under company policy. Maintain existing PCs and peripherals to company standards by performing upgrades, new installations, and routine procedures. Assist in compiling the Support Centre’s technical documentation, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring they are disseminated to users. Maintain existing systems and implement new systems. Redirect and handover support requests to the 3rd line support. Coordinate and schedule regular visits to all locations in Jutland, including vessels in Esbjerg. We will provide you with a thorough introduction to the DFDS business and how we have implemented ITIL best practices to fit our need. We Imagine The Ideal Candidate Has The Following Qualities Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar role for a minimum of 3 years. Strong focus on providing exceptional service to customers, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. Thrives in a collaborative environment, actively seeking input from team members and working together to find solutions, sharing knowledge and expertise to benefit the entire team. Adept documentation skills for effective communication. Works according to agreed-on processes and procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards for IT Support & Operations. Has a proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement in existing processes, suggesting and implementing enhancements to optimize efficiency. Experience in working with ITSM systems. Knowledge of TopDesk is an advantage. Curious about learning new technologies and best practices. Keen sense of urgency and prioritization. English fluency – Danish fluency is an advantage. Driver’s license for category B and access to car is a must. You will become part of the Nordic IT support team (Northern Europe) where you will join an experienced team of 18 employees who take pride in ensuring that everything IT-related runs correctly for the people at DFDS. You will report to IT Support Manager Kenneth Schroeder, who works from Copenhagen HQ with 7 Support Technicians. The team is part of the Support & Operations department, that consists of more than 70 Supporters and Specialists spread across 11 countries in Europe.
