As a Laboratory Manager you will be accountable for product formulation, raw materials optimization, process optimization, and the gatekeeper for product quality. Act as the link between manufacturing and engineering departments, providing data, and proposing, executing and measuring process and equipment adjustments in order to optimize cost, quality and output. Protect the business’ reputation in the marketplace by acting as the customer advoca te. What you’ll be do ing:Be seen as the leader of process optimization, working with colleagues across the wider organization to deliver goals and achieve sustainable improvem ent.Ensure high level manufacturing KPIs are met and be responsible for cascading relevant performance measures through the organizat ion.As part of the factory management team, assist in developing a clear vision of the plant strategic goals and ensuring that manufacturing achieves all of its goals; at all times operating in line with the Company’s Ambition and Leadership mo del.Work in accordance with requirements of the role set out in the business quality management system, including but not limited to H&S, Quality, Environment and Corporate Responsibility (including Competition and Bribery Acts) and where appropriate, take action to rectify issues of non-conforma nce.As customer advocate on site, ensure customer satisfaction is at the heart of the manufacturing activity and is a key element of every decision-making proc ess.Enable and support the CI program and embed the culture in all areas of the manufacturing proc ess.Effectively manage overheads applying controls as required to keep within budgetary lim its.Apply appropriate, consistent and professional management practices throughout the manufacturing area in line with the Company’s val ues.Train and develop our people, utilizing the performance appraisal process, to equip the reporting line with the correct competencies for current and future manufacturing ne eds.Work with the manufacturing team to ensure that product delivered to the market is of the expected quality and complies with international and local standa rds.Monitor end to end process parameters to ensure stability of product quality, using statistical techniques where appropri ate.Measure, analyze and recommend process parameter adjustments to achieve the most cost-effective process with the highest quality standa rds.Maintain and control product formulati ons.Ensure that the Knauf Quality Standard is follo wed.Optimize raw material usage, and investigate alternative raw materials, whilst ensuring that the Knauf Raw Materials Qualification Standard is maintai ned.Apply appropriate, consistent and professional management practices throughout the plant in line with the Company’s val ues.Use the performance appraisal process to maximise the team’s ability to respond to business needs, developing team and individuals to perform to their potent ial.Train and develop our people to equip the reporting line with the correct competencies for current and future manufacturing ne eds.Establish, maintain and control COSHH and REACH systems as requi red.Anything else commensurate to complete the r ole.The following are IMPORTANT requireme nts:Degree qualified (Engineering/ Chemicals/ Product ion)Proven experience of working within an Operational/Manufacturing environ mentStrong understanding of Statistical Process & Quality Cont rol.Ability to understand complex manufacturing proces ses.Competence in conceptual, analytical and problem solving sk illsExcellent knowledge of project manage mentExcellent time management, planning and organisation sk illsExcellent Microsoft & data analysis skills is essen tial We’ll pro vide:• Competitive s alary• Private health insu rance• Opportunity to grow in a multinational environ ment.
