Overview The Legal Team of Foot Locker Europe is a team of 10 team members, covering a wide range of legal, strategic and business issues across Europe. Within the Legal Team of Foot Locker Europe, there is a specific Real Estate Legal Team, consisting of two team members. This Real Estate Legal Team deals with legal issues connected to real estate matters and it works closely together with the Real Estate Team of Foot Locker, external law firms and landlords. The work consists of all matters pertaining to the lease agreements, including drafting, negotiations and solving disputes. The Legal Counsel Real Estate must be comfortable with understanding how various legal systems work, be able to drill down to the core of the matter with preciseness, have a healthy dose of common sense, and be able to make quick decisions based thereon. Part of the work of the Legal Counsel Real Estate is to manage the two members of the Real Estate Legal Team. Part of the day-to-day activity is working on and (pro-actively) leading Pan European & International projects. Furthermore, our Legal Counsel Real Estate must have a feeling for business and finance to provide strategic (legal) business solutions and assure the implementation of such solutions. You will work closely with our business partners from various backgrounds and nationalities; therefore, it is important that you are eager to learn, be humble and understand the business drivers. Responsibilities Lead the Associate Legal Counsel, Real Estate team Provide day-to-day assistance in ordinary and extraordinary matters within the spectrum of Real Estate law. Supporting the business on legal matters connected to activities of Construction, Facilities, Banking and Treasury. Manage the litigation strategy. Maintain regular touch bases with your business clients. Respond quickly and accurately to all requests and assignments, without neglecting quality. Be a team player, attend legal department meetings and team activities. Qualifications University degree in law and approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in the business environment, with experience in real estate transactions. Previous studying and working experience abroad are highly appreciated. Fluent in English and another European language is required (preferable French or German), both written and oral. Excellent communication and presentation skills. A balanced, no-nonsense personality with a strong will to succeed and with interpersonal skills. Good judgement, high level of integrity. Willing to roll up the sleeves if needed and take charge of operational matters even if these are not legal. Able to present complex matters not only in a very detailed and fact-based manner, but also be able to present this in a very easy to understand manner.
