We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and managing cloud-based database systems, particularly in AWS environments. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in database architecture, optimization, and maintenance, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. This role also provides an opportunity to expand into DevOps practices, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and database integration within modern CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities Database Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance database systems. Optimization: Enhance database performance through indexing, query optimization, and schema design improvements. Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for database deployment and management using tools like Terraform and Ansible. Monitoring: Set up and manage database monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure system health and availability. Security: Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including access control, encryption, and compliance adherence. Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage database backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions. Scaling: Plan and execute database scaling strategies for high-traffic environments. Work with DevOps and development teams to integrate database systems into scalable and automated infrastructure Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in database administration with expertise in cloud environments like AWS. Proven track record managing large-scale, production-grade database systems. Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases. Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and query optimization. Familiarity with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift). Expertise in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.
