Programme Manager – Onomondo (12-month contract) Are you an experienced Programme Manager looking for a role where you can own a huge delivery project? Payne Talent is a recruitment partner to Onomondo. Onomondo is a Series A scale-up (21M EUR funded) that provides a cloud-native connectivity platform for the IoT industry. Their mission is to simplify and accelerate IoT adoption by providing businesses with the tools and services to connect and manage their IoT devices securely and at scale. They are a scale-up company that is partnered with some of the most prestigious companies in the world, including Maersk, Carlsberg, Bosch and Donkey Republic. The role – This role is to become the Programme Manager for Onomondo’s biggest client project partnership. This is a groundbreaking, global-scale private network deployment – the largest ever undertaken in IoT. You will lead a highly complex, multi-vendor programme from end to end. Operating at the intersection of advanced telecom technology and maritime logistics, this project will establish new connectivity standards for IoT private networks. You will have unparalleled exposure to cutting-edge radio access network deployments involving more than 15 partners—including some of the world’s most renowned technology and telecom vendors—while collaborating intimately with internal engineering and product teams within Onomondo. Key Responsibilities – Programme Ownership: Take full accountability for the project implementation—overseeing scope, schedule, and quality across a global landscape. – Stakeholder Management: Navigate a multi-layered stakeholder environment, seamlessly aligning interests and expectations across 15+ external vendors and diverse internal departments (engineering, product, operations, billing, and more). – Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive roadmaps, manage critical path activities, and coordinate complex workflows to ensure timely and successful project milestones. – Documentation & Process Design: Define and maintain robust documentation, including SOPs for test SIM processes, user guides, technical toolkits, network diagrams, and other essential artefacts to support seamless execution. – Cross-functional leadership: Engage with internal teams to ensure readiness at every stage—facilitating resource planning, operational handovers, billing integrations, and knowledge transfers. – Risk & Change Management: Anticipate challenges, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver decisive guidance to mitigate risks. You’ll also navigate evolving priorities—saying “no” when necessary—to safeguard project integrity and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for all new requests and questions from the client, and you work cross-functionally with your teams to determine what is a priority and what to say no to. The project deliverables are agreed upon, with a 9-month timeline for full deployment. Your profile – Experienced Programme Manager – You have proven experience working as a Programme Manager. Ideally, this has been building and delivering a tech solution. You have managed projects of significant size and complexity. The project size in revenue is ideally above 5 million USD. Experience within telco networks or IoT would be an advantage, but this is not a core requirement. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark – This role is onsite at the Onomondo office, based at Islands Brygge. You will work closely and in person with your internal teams. There is flexibility in working from home and the office. Note – This is a 9-12-month position. 6-9 months is delivering the project to completion. Then we have an additional 3 months for a handover period to the business. Term & Timeline To Start ASAP This is a 12-month appointment. The project execution will span approximately nine months, with an additional 3-month transition and handover period to the business.
