For our client, an Italian branch of an International Group, operating as a full-service Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) for the production of APIs, with drug product and drug substance manufacturing companies in Europe and abroad, we are looking for a: Project Management Director Reporting to the MD, the Project Management Director coordinates the Project Managers team and the Sales Operations group for both legacy products and development projects. Main scope of the role: Lead the Project Management Office, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, objectives, policies, and laws, while driving business success through the implementation of project management best practices to enhance customer satisfaction. Oversee the development and continuous improvement of customer project management systems, evaluate new business opportunities, and manage resource allocation and project execution to deliver high-quality services and products. Recruit, train, and coach project managers to effectively manage the project portfolio and customer relationships, fostering cross-functional collaboration with department directors and maintaining strong relationships with HQ for international projects. Key duties and responsibilities: Act as the primary interface with Marketing and Sales for new inquiries and business, managing RFPs, technical evaluations, cost modeling, and proposal development, while supporting platform managers in optimizing project portfolios and resource allocation to meet strategic objectives. Oversee project execution by focusing on customer needs, managing resource prioritization, cost control, risk management, and escalation procedures, ensuring alignment with delivery goals and customer satisfaction. Manage Sales and Operations Planning, optimizing resources and collaborating with Finance, Operations, R&D, and Quality functions, while ensuring compliance with GMP, regulatory, safety, environmental, and legal requirements. Profile requirements: Degree in chemistry or equivalent (engineering or a related field) and a proven track record in Project Management and Customer Service within the Chemical (APIs) or Pharmaceutical sectors. Strong project management skills, including planning, staffing, organizing, directing, and cost controlling. Technical expertise in chemical development, scale-up, and manufacturing in a GMP environment, with a solid understanding of drug development and regulatory requirements in drug substance manufacturing. Personal Skills: Ability to build relationships within and out the organization and influence at all levels of seniority. Use empathy and emotional intelligence to understand customer needs and translate those into the organization.
