We are looking for a highly skilled SAP MM/LE Specialist to join our client’s dynamic team The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in the MM (Materials Management) and LE (Logistics Execution) modules, along with a deep understanding of SAP integration processes. This role requires proficiency in handling Idoc processes for SAP integration with SAP PI, including both inbound and outbound process flows, as well as the distribution of material master data via ALE. Background: In the client’s Logistics they see a trend in outsourcing more and more of their operated Distribution Centers to 3PL’s around the globe. The coming years they see many projects in pipeline and they would therefore like to scale up with an IT partner that can assist them (IT) on the journey. This year they have already completed 3 projects and in 2025 they currently have around 4 new projects coming up. The task that needs to be performed will be setting up EDI connections between the client’s SAP and the 3PL’s systems. Normally they have resources from MM, LE, PI, Basis, PM assigned for such projects. Where they would like you to step in would be within MM, LE area and join session with 3PL’s agreeing on the messages and testing connection. They have a set of Message types/Best Practices that they should follow and 3PL should fit into. Key Responsibilities: Utilize strong knowledge of MM and LE modules to support business processes. Manage Idoc processes for SAP integration with SAP PI, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound process flows. Oversee the distribution of material master data via ALE. Write detailed functional specifications for SAP PI mapping (Idocs to XML). Conduct thorough testing of integration flows to ensure seamless operation. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating excellent communication skills. Qualifications: Proven experience with SAP MM and LE modules. In-depth understanding of Idoc processes and SAP PI integration. Proficiency in writing functional specifications for SAP PI mapping. Strong testing skills to ensure seamless integration flows. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 3PL IT organization must be able to: Communicate via XML files. Handle UTF-8 encoding Use the client’s XML schemas/message types. Store master data, defined by the client in their WMS. Communicate via sFTP protocol or AS2, defined by the client. Provide a test environment during implementation and after go-live. Adapt to the client process flow. Support issues 24/7. 3PL IT organization must preferable have: A. A global IT organization, with single point of entry for handling day to day issues. B. A global IT organization who will oversee setting up IT interfaces. This to ensure created interfaces can in future warehouse contracts be reused and hence easily implemented elsewhere.
