Our client Our client is a fast-growing scale-up in the Tech for Good space, born from the merger of 15 innovative start-ups and scale-ups. Recently acquired by a leading venture capital firm, the company is now focused on unifying its offering by developing a cutting-edge SaaS platform that will replace the legacy on-premise systems from the merged entities. Their mission is to deliver high-impact technology solutions that drive positive change, while continuing to scale rapidly with a global reach. The role We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Product Owner to lead the design, development, and scaling of our client’s 2.0 SaaS platform. This is a hands-on role for a product owner passionate about building and productizing a next-generation, greenfield SaaS solution from the ground up. Tasks & responsibilities Product Vision and Roadmap: Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the 2.0 SaaS platform, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives; SaaS Platform Development: Lead the full product lifecycle, from concept through to launch and scaling, focusing on delivering a modern, scalable, and customer-centric platform; Feature Definition and Backlog Management: Translate business needs into detailed product requirements and user stories, prioritize the product backlog, and ensure clarity for the development team; Customer-Centric Innovation: Engage with customers, stakeholders, and end-users to understand needs and translate these insights into features that enhance the value of the platform; Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, UX, sales, and other teams to drive product execution and delivery, ensuring features are well defined and deliver maximum value; Agile Product Development: Apply agile methodologies to foster an iterative and adaptable approach to development, delivering high-quality features that meet user needs and strategic goals; Market Analysis and Competitive Research: Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and evolving trends that inform the product roadmap and ensure competitiveness. Your profile At least eight years of Product Ownership: Proven track record with at least eight years of hands-on product ownership experience, specifically in building, launching, and scaling SaaS platforms within EdTech, LMS or Childcare Software; SaaS Platform Expertise: Extensive experience in setting up greenfield SaaS products, from ideation through to a market-leading state. This includes building scalable cloud-native architectures, defining product tiers, and ensuring seamless migrations; Product Development Focus: Demonstrated ability to own and drive product development for complex SaaS systems, with a focus on modularity, scalability, and modern user experience; Customer and Value Focus: Strong experience in working with end-users to identify pain points and value drivers, and to translate these into successful features that generate incremental ARR; Productizer and Builder: Passionate about taking a hands-on approach to building and delivering new products. Thrives in greenfield environments where creating a strong product foundation is key; Not a People Manager: This is not a managerial or people leadership role. We are looking for a skilled and senior-level product owner, someone who is deeply involved in product work rather than managing teams; Strategic Thinker with Execution Mindset: Combines strategic vision with the capability to execute, iterate, and refine quickly; Agile and Adaptive: Comfortable in a fast-moving, agile environment with a focus on iteration, feedback loops, and continuous improvement; Hands-On SaaS Product Development: Experience directly overseeing the creation of a SaaS product from inception to scale. You understand the complexities of cloud, multi-tenant architectures, and customer-focused feature development; Business Acumen and Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to align product development with company financial goals, understanding the interplay between product features, customer adoption, and ARR growth; Deep Technical Understanding: Familiarity with cloud services (AWS preferred), microservices architecture, and the challenges of building a SaaS platform in a competitive market.
