The job role The position is dedicated to the Airport Expansion Program (AEP) Team , working for the design, construction, and readiness of the Airport’s forthcoming expansion phase of the updated Master Plan, reporting to the Project Manager, AEP. Responsible for planning, executing and successfully completing the NWA (North-West Apron) within the allocated time frame and budget. Supervises the PMO office to ensure services’ provision and adherence to the Airport Expansion Program (AEP) construction designs, methodologies, and standards, monitors contractors’ performance, and provide accurate and on time information related to progress of works and related certifications. Maintains an updated physical and financial progress of the NWA project status record. Responsibilities Supports the AEP Design team by reviewing detailed design packages prior to the construction phase and supports Value Engineering to enhance designs, reduce costs, and maintain operational efficiency. Collaborates with the AEP Construction team and PMO to manage the NWA construction phase, proactively addressing issues, monitoring contractor performance, and conducting inspections. Reviews, in cooperation with Design Management team, any design changes and field modifications proposed by the design & build contractor, ensuring adherence to technical standards, legal regulations, and health and safety codes. Provides accurate progress updates and certifications to the Project Controls, Costing & Contracts team following established processes. Coordinates the NWA design and construction progress and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of updated information, attends meetings, and prepares project status reports. Works closely with AEP team members to support NWA design and construction phases. Supports Project Controls, Costing & Contracts team and PMO to ensure the prompt resolution of potential Variation Orders or Contractors’ Claims. Supervises the PMO to ensure that a complete and correct Project Master File is submitted by the contractor upon project’s completion, according to the provisions of AIA’s technical projects’ requirements. Participates in testing and commissioning of the different NWA systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards and proper documentation of results. Supports the asset transfer to operations, providing necessary information to the Maintenance team and overseeing the asset until the Defects Liability Period concludes. Supervises the PMO to ensure submission of a complete and accurate Project Master File, including all required documentation, at project completion. Qualifications, Education & Work Experience Requirements University degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum 10 years of work experience in the design and construction coordination of multi-disciplinary projects, preferably to airport airside operational areas (aprons, taxiways, etc.), and related to building and/or utilities infrastructure of civil engineering projects. At least 5 years’ experience in leading technical teams. Experience in Project Management of technical projects, working with PMOs and coordination of design offices and contractors. Familiarity with ACI/IATA Airport Development Manual. Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English language. Member of Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) or EU equivalent.
