The Quantity Surveyor at Webuild will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, financial management, and contractual administration related to the company’s construction projects. Additionally, the role includes coordinating resources to ensure efficient cost management and adherence to project timelines and budgets. This position requires close collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining the required standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets based on project specifications and design documentation. Monitor and control project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets. Provide accurate financial forecasts and reports for ongoing and upcoming projects. 2. Contract Administration Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Handle variations, claims, and disputes efficiently and effectively. Negotiate terms with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and maintain quality. 3. Cost Monitoring and Reporting Track and monitor project expenditures, comparing actual costs to budgeted amounts. Generate regular cost reports for project management and senior leadership. Identify risks impacting project costs and propose appropriate mitigation strategies. 4. Tender Management Assist in preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and other required documentation for project bids. Evaluate and analyze tenders from suppliers and subcontractors, providing well-informed recommendations. 5. Risk and Value Management Identify potential risks related to costs, timelines, and quality, and propose solutions. Offer value engineering input to optimize resources and minimize wasteful expenditure. 6. Change Management Assess and manage changes in project scope, evaluating their cost implications. Ensure all scope changes are documented and reflected in updated cost reports and forecasts. 7. Coordination of Resources Organize and oversee the allocation of resources required for quantity surveying tasks, including personnel, tools, and data. Ensure efficient communication and coordination between project teams, contractors, and suppliers. Provide leadership and guidance to the QS assistants team to ensure alignment with project objectives. 8. Final Account Preparation Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors, ensuring timely settlement. Close out project finances, ensuring all expenditures are accounted for and reconciled. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5–10 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure sectors. Experience with large-scale projects, ideally in civil engineering, transportation, or infrastructure. Strong understanding of project cost control, contracts, risk management, and resource coordination. Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., SAP, Vision, cost estimation tools, and project management software). Excellent English level. Romanian language skills are good to have. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
