Role Overview As a Staff Engineer , you will be a key member of our cross-functional, agile team, reporting to the Head of Engineering. You’ll influence our architecture and shape the technical vision and long-term strategy. Your hands-on role involves coaching and supporting team members, primarily using Java, to develop complex features. You will build products and features to enhance Satispay’s payment system, taking ownership from conception to production. Our tech stack includes Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Java, Jersey, Spring, DynamoDB, and AWS infrastructure. We use RESTful microservices on EC2, RDS/DynamoDB for persistence, S3 for storage, AWS Lambda for serverless functions, Kinesis, and ElasticSearch for log streaming. Your Mission Mentor and guide teams. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. Drive cross-Functional collaboration. Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives and deliver cohesive, high-quality solutions. Architect complex frameworks. Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable architectures that support current and future product needs, ensuring the robustness of our platform. Foster a strategic vision. Contribute to the long-term technical vision and strategy of Satispay, ensuring we stay ahead of industry trends and continue to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Your Ideal Profile Relevant education and technical background. You have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with extensive experience as a Software Engineer within Java architectures in a cloud-based environment (AWS is a plus). Leadership in engineering teams. You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams at consumer-focused companies, fostering best engineering practices and a collaborative, growth-oriented culture. Microservices and Agile methodologies. You are experienced with microservices infrastructure and Agile methodologies, driving the implementation of scalable, reliable, and efficient systems. Focus on simplicity and quality. You have a preference for simple solutions and an obsession with quality, ensuring robust and maintainable code. Structured communication and stakeholder management. You are willing to embrace new challenges and can communicate in a structured and convincing manner, adapting your style to build trust with various stakeholders in a positive and professional way. Language proficiency. You are fluent in Italian and English. Passion for FinTech or Startup environments. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings and are enthusiastic about contributing to the growth and innovation of a FinTech or startup company. Initial gross annual salaries vary based on experience: up to €50,000.00/year for junior roles and up to €90,000.00/year for senior positions, with potential adjustments after 6 months based on performance.
