About The Role The Construction and Operation -department takes responsibility for the construction and asset management of all solar and wind projects at Fortum. The department is divided into three teams; Construction, Asset Management & Asset Integrity and Optimisation (AIO). As an Asset Management summer trainee in the Asset Management team, you will collaborate with your department colleagues and support the asset managers on the daily operational work. The tasks will vary and you will have the possibility to work with several aspects of the team’s daily work, including technical and commercial aspects, as well as EHSSQ (Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality) and stakeholder related topics depending on the needs. Tasks can also involve supporting the process and tool improvement related activities. You will also have the opportunity to work with other teams in the Wind & Solar organization at Fortum; the Strategy and Commercialisation -department, Engineering & Technology -department, as well as the country-specific development teams, based on the need. The position is based at the Fortum HQ in Espoo, and you will be reporting to the Head of Asset Management. About You You are passionate about renewable energy and the energy transition. You are in the final stage of your master’s degree in engineering, economics, or other relevant field. You have a good understanding of the energy industry and especially renewables, while experience in project development, engineering, construction, and/or operation within wind and/or solar is highly advantageous. You have at least a basic business understanding and are proactive with the ability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. You are a team player, a quick learner, have great communication skills in a multi-cultural setting, and adapt easily to a dynamic working environment. You are an open-minded individual with a sense of humour and great social skills. You bring new ideas to the table, have a drive to develop ways of working further, and have an eye for details, but you are still able to keep the big picture in focus. Fluency in the working language English is critical, while additional language skills are highly valued (especially Finnish, Swedish or Norwegian).
