About the job
Through strong professional management, you must ensure focus on the core task and quality in its solution, just as you must ensure that there is collaboration and coordination with relevant internal and external partners. As a department manager, you also have an important task in strengthening cohesion between the employees and creating a good, guiding framework for task solving.
Adult counseling is organized both as a line and a matrix organization with the aim of achieving safe operation and a common professional approach and level of service across the department. This means that you, as a department manager, have personnel management duties and at the same time have primary responsibility for a number of professional areas, while your managerial colleague has other areas. The idea is that you can cover for each other. In this position lies the responsibility for professional management of the areas BPA, §100 and §118 etc. 
You can therefore expect close cooperation and daily dialogue with your department head colleague. 
In Kolding Municipality, we are organized in life phases, which means that cooperation across Children and Family, the Youth Area, the Seniors, Health and Leisure Administration and the Job Center is highly valued on a daily basis in order to succeed for the benefit of the citizen. As head of department, you also have an important collaboration with the other centers in the Social and Disability area, as collaboration across authorities and contractors is crucial to succeed in solving the task. 
Who are we?
Adult counseling consists of 23 social workers/social mediators, 2 department managers, 1 center manager and 1 administrative employee. 
In Adult Counselling, you will be part of a department where the professional level ranges both high and wide.
Adult counseling administers the provisions of the Service Act within the specialized adult area. The target group thus consists of adult citizens over the age of 30 with a physical and/or mental disability or citizens over the age of 18 who have had their support basis clarified. 
The adult investigation method 2.0 is used in connection with the case processing of all cases and is supported by the Sensum IT system.
What do we expect? 
We would like our new department manager,

has a background in social work and experience in management
has experience with the Service Act in the adult area, including BPA, social worker negotiation and additional expenses
can create an overview of the workplace's daily operations for the benefit of the employees
is familiar with authority tasks and has experience from the social authority area 
has financial insight and flair as well as experience with operational tasks in a municipal administration
has its finger on the pulse with regard to new trends, new professional areas and new legislation 
values cooperation both broadly and interdisciplinary
has good communication skills both orally and in writing
is a present and visible leader who takes the lead and supports the professional work
is outgoing, proactive and values relational management
attaches great importance to professionalism, documentation, follow-up, structure and overview
flair for data use and system knowledge.
has an eye for the employees' professional and personal competences are developed for the benefit of the department's task-solving

Terms of employment
Salary and terms of employment according to collective agreement and the principles in New salary.
The position is a permanent department manager position of 37 hours with no peak working hours.
Prior to employment, Kolding Municipality obtains a criminal record/child record when the law requires it, or the position otherwise warrants it.
