Job Description
Temporary position for authority tasks for waste water, watercourses and climate adaptation
We are looking for an employee for a shared position in the watercourse area and waste water area, and who has threads for climate adaptation projects. In the position, you will solve tasks in both areas of authority for the benefit of the water environment in Odsherred. In the position, it is important to have good collaboration skills with a focus on interdisciplinarity, good citizen contact and business friendliness, which must be balanced so that environmental concerns are put at the centre.
If you have the courage to help carry out the many tasks in the area, we are looking for you for a temporary position of 1 year in the water team.
Your primary tasks
You will primarily deal with authority tasks according to the Environmental Protection Act, the Wastewater Executive Order and the Watercourses Act.
Order for improved wastewater treatment
Discharge and connection permits for wastewater discharges and connections
Drainage matters
Watercourse regulation
Assist with water management and climate adaptation, e.g. in connection with construction projects, building maturation and local planning
Inspections and supervision in the waste water area and the water course area
Answering inquiries from contractors, citizens, sewer managers, etc. on rainwater management, waste water management and watercourse issues
Initiate and/or support projects that contribute to climate adaptation across the municipality, among citizens, associations, etc.
What are we doing?
In the water team, we work with the water we bathe in on the coast, - the water we drink, the water in lakes and streams, the dirty water, waste water and soil pollution. Wastewater and sewerage is a high-priority task that involves close cooperation with Odsherred Forsyning and other parts of the municipality's administration. The watercourse area is also one of the most demanding areas in cancer of the increasing wet periods, which involves watercourse projects, maintenance of drains and complaints. In the Water Team, we also have a wide range of other tasks, such as groundwater and drinking water, coastal protection and soil pollution. Climate adaptation is closely linked to both waste water, watercourses and climate. Here, adaptation solutions to the growing climate challenges must be found across the municipality, while taking nature and the environment into account.
The water team works closely with the other teams in the centre, which are Nature, Environment, Waste, Planning, Construction and Traffic, and you must help to maintain the good interdisciplinary cooperation.
A little about you
We expect you to have relevant education in the environmental field or have similar experience that is relevant for this position. You are well versed in the legislation in the area and can make the necessary legal assessments, as well as pass them on to citizens or companies.
We place particular emphasis on a certain knowledge of and experience with public administration.
If you have knowledge of the position's work areas from your previous job or through your education, it will be an advantage.
We expect you
Able to focus on the most important aspects of the task within the prescribed legislation
Able to quickly familiarize yourself with new and complex issues, including new legislation, IT systems, etc.
Can work independently and maintain an overview of a large case volume
Can create a good and constructive dialogue with supply, citizens and companies, etc.
Has a good mood and is a good colleague who knows how to contribute constructively to support the team's tasks and development in general.
