Job Description
We are looking for a colleague to join our team in Brussels for advocacy and EU research. You will be part of a small team where we work with EU interest protection within research policy, funding and thematic focus areas such as green transition, health and digital technology in close collaboration with our universities and regions. We are part of a large international environment, close to the EU institutions in Brussels, and we work every day to engage our ownership circle in the EU. About the position The position as EU consultant in our team for advocacy includes independent responsibility for developing and running our efforts within the EU's research policy, capacity building in our ownership group and research into green transition. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our network in the EU institutions and among actors in Brussels as well as among our owners and business partners in Denmark. You will, among other things, come to perform the following types of tasks: Monitor, communicate - and advise on policy and program development within research and innovation in specific focus areas within the green transition and potentially other thematic areas. Develop and run initiatives that strengthen our owners' participation in EU networks and positioning vis-à-vis the EU. Plan visit and meeting programs in Brussels as well as workshops and similar events in collaboration with our owners and business partners. You have a relevant higher education in social sciences. 2-3 years of work experience from employment within EU interest representation in Brussels. Insight into the EU system, including the EU's research policy and Horizon Europe, is a prerequisite. It is an advantage if you have also dealt with EU policy development within the green transition. Knowledge of the university sector and the Danish regions' areas of responsibility within environmental management and circular economy. Experience in working in an international environment and collaborating across different cultures. Good written and oral communication skills in Danish and English. We expect you to thrive with a great deal of independent responsibility for developing and handling your tasks as well as cultivating and maintaining relationships in an international environment as well as among our owners and business partners in Denmark. You are a good colleague with a sense of coordination, interdisciplinary cooperation and involvement of your colleagues. You contribute to a good community and well-being in the office. We offer You will be part of a workplace characterized by high activity and professionalism with a large contact surface between universities and EU actors. The position is versatile and flexible, and you yourself help shape your tasks in close collaboration with your colleagues and our group of owners. Your formal employment will be in the Capital Region, and you will be seconded to the Greater Copenhagen EU Office with a duty station in Brussels. You must live in or move to Brussels. You are expected to make trips to Denmark approximately once a month. The position is wanted from mid-April 2025. About GCPHEU We represent the University of Copenhagen, DTU, CBS, Roskilde University, the Capital Region, Region Zealand and 45 municipalities in Eastern Denmark. We have 19 employees, the majority of whom work in Brussels.
