The police handle large amounts of personal data every day – this applies to crime-fighting and to many other tasks in the police. It is a priority that citizens can trust that the police process the information in accordance with the framework that applies to the protection of citizens' information.
We are looking for a number of new employees for the National Police's Section for Data Protection, which is part of the Legal Department, which consists of approx. 80 employees. You can be a lawyer or have other relevant training in the field of data protection.
As part of the Section for Data Protection, you will help ensure solid and applicable data protection legal solutions across the Danish police. You and your colleagues support the work of both the National Police and the police districts in ensuring compliance in the police's daily work, and you are also involved when new tools are developed for the police.
About the job We offer a job in an organization with tasks of great social importance, where you will have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally.
You will work closely with committed colleagues, but will also work independently and across the organization with the National Police and the police districts' compliance with data protection legal obligations. In this connection, you will work with the Data Protection Regulation, the Law Enforcement Act and orders on specific processing activities, systems and tools in the police.
You will have the opportunity to work with, among other things, the Criminal Register, the Central Fingerprint Register, the Central DNA Profile Register, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPG), the Police Investigation Support Database (PED) and POL-INTEL, which are used for cross-sectional information analyses.
Your tasks will, among other things, include
project participation in connection with the development of new and current IT tools
risk assessment and impact analysis
further development of the police compliance program for data protection
preparation and negotiation of data processing agreements
supervision activities and development of supervision concepts
data protection legal advice and guidance for the National Police and the police districts

The work of the police occupies many in society and enjoys a great deal of political attention. Therefore, you will also have to contribute to answering questions from the Folketing, prepare hearing responses for e.g. new legislation. Since the police also make use of common European systems, there may also be travel activity for meetings in e.g. EU.
We have a busy everyday life, but at the same time emphasize that we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the subject areas and tasks. Our culture and structure support a strong professional environment and encourage professional sparring, development and collaboration.
About you You are a Master of Laws, Master of Science in Merchandising (Law) or have other relevant educational background in the field of data protection.
We are looking for both you who are already a specialist in data protection and you who have the ambition to become one. The most important thing is that you want to work cross-functionally and in close collaboration with police trainees, analysts, data specialists and others who all work to develop and support the Danish police.
You may have experience with the many aspects of data protection law from a position in the state administration or from the legal profession. It is an advantage if you have worked actively with compliance in practice.
We emphasize that you can offer implementable and operational solutions, and that you want to familiarize yourself with the technological tools and systems that the police use, and that you want to collaborate interdisciplinary with other colleagues.
You are motivated by familiarizing yourself with new areas, are quick to see through issues and work independently, structured and proactive in seeking out knowledge and making decisions. You thrive in a large organisation, which is constantly influenced by political decisions, and you know how to think and act from a holistic perspective. You are welcoming and positive and h
are keen to become part of a committed professional environment with an informal tone.
Salary and terms of employment You will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the agreements between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organization of Academics in force at all times. You are placed on the basis of qualifications.
