Introductory position for Internal Medicine at the Endocrinology section Hvidovre Hospital, at the Department of Pulmonary, Hormonal and Metabolic Diseases

We are looking for 1 reserve doctor for a vacant 1-year introductory position in internal medicine to be filled on 1 June 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Applicants for the intro position must have completed the basic clinical training. Emphasis is placed on the applicant having an interest in the specialty endocrinology, but employment in the position qualifies for the main education in the 9 internal medicine specialties. The endocrinology department participates in the treatment of hospitalized medical patients with endocrinological and internal medicine diseases. The department has a very large ambulatory function, primarily focusing on diabetes, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases and obesity. The day function will primarily be associated with the endocrinology ward, outpatient clinic and the Emergency Department. During employment at the Department of Endocrinology, the reserve doctor is part of an 8-shift intermediate shift in a medical emergency department. The intermediate shift function also exists for the other medical departments at the hospital and there is the presence of at least one rear guard from one of the departments at the hospital who participates in the shift. The department is particularly active in research in the areas of diabetes, osteoporosis and adiposity. The department participates in student teaching. The Department of Endocrinology is one of the region's largest with approx. 30,000 outpatient visits. The department consists of an inpatient unit, day hospital, outpatient clinic and a research unit.
