Job Description

Norlax A/S is looking for an experienced, independent and versatile maintenance manager to handle operation, maintenance and development of machinery and installations in production and packaging.

Norlax is located in Outrup, north of Esbjerg, and produces smoked salmon and trout for the whole world. The company takes care of the entire processing process from raw materials to finished, customer-specific products – including cutting, smoking and packaging in modern production and packaging facilities.

THE POSITION
As a maintenance manager, you will be responsible for operation, maintenance and development of the machine park - including fault finding, preventive measures, technical procurement, management and implementation of planned maintenance and ad hoc repairs as well as optimization of plant and equipment. You report to the production manager, and in day-to-day life you are responsible for a workshop manager and three maintenance technicians.
Primary areas of work and responsibility:

Daily monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of machines, equipment and buildings.
Management of employees in the department.
Plan, manage and carry out planned and ad hoc maintenance, repair and service.
Continually assesses repair and service needs and coordinates tasks with internal and external resources.
Carry out and optimize the purchase of spare parts and external support as well as manage the maintenance budget.
Optimizing machinery and processes within the area of ​​responsibility.
Close cooperation with operators and production management to ensure a stable and efficient operation.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, i.a. the Machinery Directive.
Coordinates and plans the work in the maintenance department.

At the same time, you will quite naturally become a key person in relation to ongoing improvements to the machine park as well as major replacements and investments.

THE CANDIDATE
It is crucial that you have broad experience in the field and insight into, among other things, mechanics, vacuum and compressed air, and preferably knowledge of electrical engineering and automation. You must enjoy having more time in production than behind the screen, and have both the desire and ability to take an active part in the day-to-day work alongside the fact that you have the overview and take care of the necessary planning and administrative tasks.
Specifically, emphasis is placed on you having:

Experience from a similar role with responsibility for operation and maintenance of machinery, plant and equipment.
Knowledge of process industrial plants or equivalent - including especially packaging plants.
Solid experience with troubleshooting, correction and hands-on problem solving.
Knowledge of industrial automation, PLC control etc.
Experience with close dialogue and collaboration both internally and externally.

You are probably a trained machinist, automation technician, mechanical or automation engineer or similar. You can also have a shorter technician training supplemented with relevant experience.
As a person, you will fit in well if you are outgoing and aware of responsibility and meet new tasks and people with both calmness and curiosity. You will find that priorities can change quickly, so it is also important that you like change and a fast pace and can maintain an overview and decision-making ability along the way.

OTHER CONDITIONS
Working hours: Most days you are expected to come in around 6.30. Production only runs during the day, but repair and maintenance will occasionally take place outside normal working hours.
Salary: Fixed salary at a competitive level + pension.
Language: Danish in writing and speech and English in speech.
IT: Daily user of MS and preferably ERP system. Knowledge of PLC is an advantage.
Residence: Max 50 min. driving from the company.
Location: Outrup.
