Job Description
Do you want to help shape the development of the day care, primary school and education area? And support the realization of the reform of the primary school. Do you have political flair and experience in representing interests from an area of political attention? Can you lead the development and changes and an office with skilled, professional and passionate employees? We currently have an interesting office manager position available in the area.
Management and support of change and reforms
Children, young people and the primary school area experience high activity and political attention in these years. The municipalities play a key role and enter into close cooperation with the other players in the area. As head of office, you must be at the forefront of this in close cooperation with the political committee and KL's board, your employees and KL's other offices.
The tasks in KL
KL's office for Children, Young People & Folkeskole takes care of tasks in the entire 0-25 age range. As head of office, you must ensure that the municipalities have the best possible conditions for children and young people in Denmark via representation of interests vis-à-vis the government, the Folketing, the state and other stakeholders and parties including, among others, Denmark's Teachers' Association, BUPL and FOA. This takes place in close involvement and interaction with the municipalities.
Your areas of responsibility will include be to:
Contribute to the implementation of KL's strategy and policy in the areas
Protect interests and influence the content and implementation of reforms, including implementation of the primary school reform
Be the engine for the collaboration in "Together about the School"
Contribute to ensuring a large involvement of the municipalities in the representation of KL's interests
Contribute to the municipalities being supported in the implementation of new measures in the areas, e.g. via networks, theme days and course activities
Ensure high quality and service in the secretarial service of KL's Children and Education Committee
Enter into a close and trusting collaboration with the director of the area, where you get a great deal of responsibility and room to manoeuvre.
Strengthen the interdisciplinary cooperation in the center and KL and prioritize entering into a good and constructive collaboration with your boss colleagues across the policy areas in KL.
Competent political interest representative and motivating leader
We emphasize that you have extensive knowledge of and experience with the office's areas. We would like you to:
Have a sincere interest in and commitment to the areas of children, young people and public schools and want to leave your mark on them
Has an analytical sense and a sharp strategic eye, can "read the map" and hit on the central agendas
Is ready to independently take the space and represent KL when it is appropriate
Understands the municipal task-solving within children, young people and the primary school area, and understands the workflows at Slotsholmen.
Has a good network, political acumen and experience of working in a politically controlled organisation, including with advocacy and press management
Can maintain overview, calmness and trusting relationships when many interests and opinions are at stake among dedicated parties
Has an open and appreciative management style and manages to set direction for the office and to develop and motivate your employees professionally and ensure high quality in the task solution
Is engaging, trust-building and creates companionship
We would like for you to already have management experience in the area and preferably further training in management
Has an educational background at master's level.
The office
You will be the manager of 25 employees, including a deputy manager and a team leader. The office is widely represented professionally, i.e. there are both pedagogues, teachers and social science colleagues. You will report to director Kristian Heunicke.

The practical

Salary and terms of employment
Salary and terms of employment follow the collective agreement, with the possibility of negotiating supplements based on your qualifications.
