The Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine at the University of Copenhagen is looking for clinical veterinarians for 3-year positions that will be available with us from now and in the next 6 months at the University Hospital for Large Animals in Taastrup. The clinical veterinarian position is an AC/TAP position, which involves participation in clinical teaching, but is without research rights and obligations. The working hours have been shifted to a significant extent. About us The University Hospital for Large Livestock in Taastrup forms the framework for education and training of the next generation of veterinarians in the areas of medicine, surgery and reproduction for large livestock. The hospital's equine section receives approx. 1,700 horses referred for hospitalization annually. The hospital is open 24 hours a day for acutely injured and sick horses. The hospital's practice has approx. 2000 consultations annually, of which the vast majority are horse consultations. The teaching department annually receives approx. 100 referred cattle patients, as well as housing a number of purchased teaching animals that are included in the basic clinical courses. The university hospital also forms the framework for specialist training within ECEIM, ECVS, as well as post-graduate ad hoc courses. Tasks Clinical veterinarians must, as directed, contribute to ensuring that suitable patient material is available for teaching, so that the University Hospital for Large Animals functions optimally for both patients and students. Clinic veterinarians must, in collaboration with the other hospital staff, take care of all practical-administrative matters regarding the admission, treatment and repatriation of patients, and otherwise accompany the admitted patients during the hospital stay with examinations and treatments. Clinic veterinarians are on duty, responsible for taking care of the hospital's emergency response with the admission and treatment of sick and injured animals as well as the hospital's inpatients and patients in our large animal practice. Furthermore, to a lesser extent, clinic veterinarians may be tasked with administrative tasks related to the operation of the hospital. The position as clinical veterinarian is very outgoing and includes, among other things, communication with animal owners, referring vets, the institute's other professional groups, other institutes and institutions outside SUND, which is why the position requires good communication and collaboration skills; the working language is predominantly Danish both in writing and in speech. Competencies of the clinical veterinarian Veterinary master's degree and Danish veterinary authorization. Experience from large animal or equine clinical practice. Eager to teach and has good pedagogical skills. Responsible and is good at handling stressful situations. Structured and systematic in working methods. Flexible in case of unforeseen absence of colleagues. Professionally motivated and intends to achieve a high professional level which is maintained and expanded through self-study and participation in the hospital's teaching and continuing education offer.
