Job Description
Cook B'/C' Meliá Athens Hotel, a member of the multinational chain Meliá Hotels International, is looking for candidates to fill the position of Cook B'/C'. Duties Preparation of dishes according to the predetermined procedures and quality standards. Preparation and presentation of the buffet according to the hotel's high standards, both for breakfast and for other hotel needs such as dinners or events. Continuous replenishment of the buffet ensuring immediate availability of all options for customers. Control and management of raw materials and ensure proper storage and maintenance of product quality. Implementation of food hygiene and safety guidelines (HACCP) and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Participating in the process of receiving supplies and maintaining organized and clean storage areas. Collaborate with other cooks to prepare special orders and personalized dishes for hotel guests. Active participation in the creation of new menus that will contribute positively to the breakfast buffet experience. Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the workplace. Preparing the kitchen and materials before the start of the shift, as well as closing the kitchen at the end of the service. Necessary qualifications and professional skills Culinary school graduate. Experience in a similar position in 4 or 5 star hotels, with particular preference in the banquet sector. Knowledge of preparation of Greek and international cuisine products, as well as specialization in pastries and hot desserts. Skills in handling all necessary kitchen tools and equipment. Ability to work in a demanding environment, meeting deadlines. Good command of the English language, both oral and written. Strong communication skills, team spirit and a positive attitude to work together. Adaptability and flexibility in undertaking different tasks according to the needs of the kitchen.
