Job Description
The Technical and Environmental Administration's (TMF) Unit for Recycling is looking for an experienced project manager to help spread knowledge about recycling, waste sorting and circular economy.
With the political adoption of the Resource and Waste Strategy 2030, there are still great ambitions to increase recycling in Copenhagen, i.a. through activities at our nearby recycling stations.
In 2024, we held over 325 events and activities, such as clothing, toy and plant swap markets, DIY upcycling workshops and Alternative Fashion Week with over 13,000 participants distributed across the city's 12 local recycling stations. With the vision of strengthening our local recycling stations as local collection points, we want to further develop our activities to attract even more visitors and improve the quality of the offers we have. This position will have a particular focus on the development of partnerships in connection with events, workshops and activities, volunteering and local engagement.
You will become part of a newly created unit - the Unit for Recycling and particularly attached to the Recycling Activities team, where you will, together with ambitious and committed colleagues, help develop future concepts for recycling, especially for the city's nearby and recycling stations.
We are looking for a skilled project manager to work strategically with our partnerships at the nearby recycling stations. On the basis of current experience, a partnership strategy must be prepared that shows the way to strengthened cooperation with municipal actors and other relevant partners, including civil society actors, NGOs, companies and social economic actors.
Your duties include, among other things,
mapping of current partnership experiences
prepare a partnership strategy for activities at local recycling stations
to initiate, develop and maintain new partnerships
administrative tasks in the team
We expect you
have experience in event management, and that you can develop and facilitate workshop and event concepts
is a skilled planner and coordinator who is strong in the entire process from idea to action
is outgoing, proactive, spacious, open and good at collaborating with many different actors
is proactive and can challenge the team in the development of our projects
has 5+ years of experience with partnerships
has 5+ years of project management experience
About the department
The unit is part of the Climate and Urban Development department, which with a holistic view, curiosity and high professionalism solves tasks within waste and resources, climate initiatives, urban planning, landfill, public housing and analyses. The department has approximately 350 employees spread over 15 professional units and a secretariat, who all work to make Copenhagen an even better and more sustainable city to live, live and develop in.
As part of Climate and Urban Development, you must be willing to participate in collaborations and projects that cross disciplines and disciplines. We believe that the good solutions become stronger and more effective when we solve them together – coordinated and across subjects, units and areas of authority. The Department of Climate and Urban Development is centrally located in Njalsgade on Islands Brygge. You will report to the unit manager in the Unit for Recycling.
Focused management is the basis of management in TMF. The core of the management foundation is three norms which define what good behavior is and thus also what management is in TMF. It's about "We do it properly", "We do it together" and "We do it for Copenhagen". These three norms are the essence of the objective and define the direction of the way we want to lead and work in TMF.
Working conditions
We offer permanent employment of 37 hours per week with joining per 1 June 2025.
Salary is agreed according to current conditions and collective agreement. Weekend work will occur (from April to December).
